Calendering
The melt roll coating processing of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) has become increasingly popular in the coated fabric industry. In cases when the coating weight is above 80 grams/m2 and the use of organic solvents is restricted, the melt roll coating process is put to its greatest advantage.
Because of their unique combination of properties, thermoplastic polyurethanes are consumed in increasing volumes by a variety of industries. But it is in applications where TPUs are subjected to the most severe abuse that Estane® TPU materials have found their unique performance.
Estane TPU compounds have been developed for rapid trouble-free processing on melt roll coaters. These special compounds exhibit:

- Excellent flexibility
- Excellent abrasion resistance
- Superior resistance to ozone, oil, gasoline and the majority of solvents
Estane TPU melt roll coating compounds are available in different colors, with food and potable water approvals, and with electrical conductive and static dissipative properties.
