Tecophilic® thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs) are a family of medical-grade, aliphatic, polyether-based TPUs which have been specially formulated to absorb equilibrium water contents of up to 150% of the weight of dry resin.
Extrusion grade formulations provide maximum physical properties of thermoformed tubing or other components, whereas solution grade formulations provide greater solubility in organic solvents to prepare lacquers for coating applications.
This technology has been expanded to a Tecophilic® Gel, a hydrogel that can be formulated to absorb equilibrium water contents between 500% and 2000% of the weight of dry resin.
